PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur firmly stated that peace in the Kurram district will not be compromised.
Speaking to the media in Peshawar, Gandapur said that efforts are underway to find a permanent resolution to the 121-year-old dispute in Kurram. As per the jirga's decision, the process of dismantling bunkers is also in progress.
The chief minister reiterated that law will prevail and those disrupting peace will be dealt with accordingly.

Meanwhile, Kurram Jirga member Irshad Hussain Bangash confirmed that bunkers are being demolished and that both sides have submitted a framework for surrendering weapons.
He also highlighted the shortage of aid, stating that the relief trucks sent for the 600,000-strong population are insufficient. He pointed out issues such as the fuel crisis, the closure of educational institutions, and the difficulties faced by patients due to the ongoing situation.
Bangash urged the government to assert its authority and immediately reopen the Tall-Parachinar Road, emphasizing that the blockade is severely affecting students and those traveling abroad. He further noted that both parties involved in the conflict agreed upon reopening the road as soon as possible.
