PESHAWAR: A new Ehsaas Shelter Home has been established in Spin Jamaat near Khyber Teaching Hospital  to provide free accommodation, food and basic facilities to deserving people.

Advisor to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Social Welfare Department, Malik Liaqat Ali Khan, inaugurated the shelter home.

The facility has been established for daily-wage workers, attendants of patients and travelers who require temporary accommodation in the city. Residents will be provided free lodging, breakfast and dinner, along with other basic facilities.

Malik Liaqat Ali Khan said the shelter home was established on the special directives of the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa after he took notice of daily-wage workers sleeping in the open near University Road.

He said the shelter home has proper accommodation arrangements and a kitchen facility. It will remain open from 6pm to 9am, providing deserving individuals with a safe and dignified place to stay overnight.

The Social Welfare Adviser said providing dignified accommodation and food to underprivileged segments of society is among the government’s priorities.

He added that the government is expanding the network of Ehsaas Shelter Homes in different parts of the province to facilitate people in need.

During his visit, Malik Liaqat Ali Khan inspected the bedrooms and kitchen of the newly established shelter home and directed the staff to ensure that all visitors receive quality and dignified facilities.
