BANNU: Two residents of Pirat Kalla Mamekhel area in Bannu have publicly announced complete disassociation from their missing relatives following reports of their alleged involvement in anti-state activities.
Speaking at a press conference at Bannu Press Club, Akhtar Ali Khan said that he had provided his son with education up to FA level, but the young man has been missing for the past eight to nine months. He stated that he recently learned through police sources that his son was allegedly involved in anti-state activities. He emphasized that he is a poor businessman and has no connection with his son’s alleged actions, declaring complete disassociation from him.
On the same occasion, Zubair Khan said that his 14-year-old orphan nephew, Abdullah son of Shahjehan, has also been missing for the past eight to nine months. He added that he was informed through police channels that the minor was also allegedly involved in anti-state activities, after which he too announced complete disassociation from his nephew.

Both individuals said that missing reports had been filed at Hovid police station soon after their relatives disappeared, and the families had been continuously searching for them. They added that had they known earlier about any alleged unlawful or anti-state involvement, they would have immediately informed the relevant authorities.
During the press conference, they reiterated that they belong to poor working-class families and have no association with the alleged activities of their missing relatives. They also appealed to senior police officials, the district peace committee chairman, and local law enforcement bodies not to harass or trouble them unnecessarily.
They further stated that if there is evidence against the two missing individuals regarding involvement in anti-state activities, they neither support them nor take responsibility for their actions.
It is worth mentioning that around 15 similar press conferences have been held at Bannu Press Club.
