The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to launch a paid internship programme for BS students and graduates to enhance their practical skills and improve employment prospects, according to a circular.

The circular, issued to all administrative secretaries, directed government departments to ensure the availability of internship opportunities under the initiative.

Under the three-month programme, selected interns will receive a monthly stipend of Rs25,000, fully funded by the provincial government.

According to the circular, graduates will receive hands-on training in government departments, public universities and other relevant institutions to help bridge the gap between academic learning and professional experience.

The circular further instructed all departments to allocate internship positions and nominate focal persons to coordinate the programme.

Departments have also been directed to submit details of available internship opportunities within 15 days.

A centralised database will be established to manage the internship programme and monitor placements.

The circular said the initiative aims to equip students and graduates with practical experience while improving their employability and career prospects.
