Pakistan’s Foreign Office Spokesperson, Shafqat Ali Khan, has revealed that Afghan authorities attempted to construct two border posts within Pakistan’s territory and resorted to firing when stopped by Pakistani forces.

During his weekly press briefing, the spokesperson stated that the Torkham border was closed due to Afghanistan’s unauthorized construction efforts and unprovoked firing within Pakistani territory.

Addressing the extradition of terrorist Sharifullah to the U.S., he emphasized that it was conducted by Pakistan-U.S. security and counterterrorism cooperation, with all legal requirements fulfilled. He clarified that Sharifullah’s arrest and extradition were not isolated events but part of ongoing Pakistan-U.S. cooperation on counterterrorism.
