Torkham Border Closure Enters 11th Day, $3 Million Daily Trade Loss Reported

]TORKHAM: The Pakistan- Afghanistan trade gateway, Torkham, remained closed for the 11th consecutive day, causing an estimated $3 million in daily losses, according to customs officials. 

While the situation at the border remains tense due to Afghanistan's construction in disputed territory, the exchange of gunfire has ceased.

Security sources reported that Torkham Transit Terminal has been cleared of cargo vehicles, and travelers heading to Afghanistan were turned back from Torkham Bazaar. Government personnel had already been relocated to Landi Kotal, while high-alert security measures remain in place, with additional troops deployed at the border.
