The caretaker government has taken a decisive step in providing crucial assistance to the earthquake-stricken population of Afghanistan by deploying a specialized medical team from Pakistan.
As outlined by the Federal Ministry of Health, this dedicated team comprises ten members, including skilled surgeons and male nurses. Among the medical experts, there are two neurosurgeons, two orthopedic surgeons, and a general surgeon.
Additionally, the team will include five experienced nurses. The deployment of this medical unit to Afghanistan has been initiated on the directives of the caretaker prime minister.

Sources within the Ministry of Health reveal that the mission unfolds in two phases. Initially, a medical team will embark on their mission from Islamabad to Afghanistan. Subsequently, a second phase is under consideration, which may involve sending another medical team from Quetta and Peshawar to further bolster the relief efforts.
The Ministry of Health underscores its commitment to the cause, emphasizing that if additional medical personnel and supplies are required, they will be promptly dispatched to Afghanistan. Notably, there has been no official decision regarding the provision of medical teams and medicines to Gaza at this time.
It is crucial to recognize the magnitude of the tragedy, with over 2,400 lives lost in the western region due to the devastating earthquakes. The earthquake in Herat registered a seismic intensity of 6.3, resulting in severe damage to infrastructure. Nevertheless, ongoing efforts persist in the search for survivors buried beneath the debris, with hopes to avert further loss of life.
