The sit-in protest in Parachinar, the headquarters of the Kurram district, continues for the sixth consecutive day as residents demand the reopening of routes, an aid package for the 500,000 stranded population, and a martyrs' package for the 500 individuals who died due to a lack of medical facilities.

Addressing the protesters outside the Parachinar Press Club, Agha Syed Sadaqat Hussain, Trade Union President Haji Imdad Ali, Musarrat Hussain, Muntazir Malik, Zartaj Hussain, and other leaders accused authorities of deliberately pushing Kurram into turmoil. They alleged that the closure of roads is being used as a tool for the region's systematic oppression.

The protest leaders highlighted that over half a million people remain trapped, facing severe hardships due to prolonged unrest and road blockades. Hundreds of children and elderly individuals have lost their lives due to the lack of medical care, prompting demands for an immediate aid package and a martyrs’ package for those who perished due to inaccessible healthcare.

The protesters also called for strict action against those violating the peace agreements, warning that the sit-in would continue until safe access to all routes was restored.

Meanwhile, a separate sit-in continues in Bughgan, where demonstrators are demanding aid for the affected families and accountability for those responsible for the damages in the area.
