A 15-year-old schoolgirl allegedly died by suicide after shooting herself in the Tehkal Canal Town area of Peshawar. Her body was recovered from the house after the incident.

According to Tehkal Police, complainant Sohail Khan said he was at home when he suddenly heard a gunshot. He immediately rushed to the room and found his sister lying in a pool of blood.

Police said the deceased was identified as 15-year-old Ms. N, daughter of Hamdas Khan.

Initial information suggests that she had recently appeared in her 10th-grade examinations and used her elder sister’s mobile phone.

According to police, after her mother stopped her from using the mobile phone, she allegedly shot herself and ended her life.

Sources further claimed that she had previously attempted suicide after reportedly being unable to marry a person of her choice.

Police have taken the pistol into custody and launched an investigation into different aspects of the incident.
