Unknown motorcyclists opened fire on an investigation team of Peshawar Police near Northern Bypass, resulting in the deaths of three suspects who were in police custody, while the attackers managed to escape.
According to police, the deceased suspects were identified as Muhammad Shoaib, Muhammad Umar alias Wajahat, and Muhammad Imad, who were wanted in multiple cases of bank robbery, murder, and terrorism.
Police officials said the suspects were being transported for investigation purposes when unidentified motorcyclists suddenly opened indiscriminate fire on the police party.
During the attack, the SHO and other personnel remained unharmed as they were wearing bulletproof jackets and helmets; however, the police vehicle was damaged.

Police stated that the deceased suspects were involved in bank robberies on Kohat Road and Warsak Road, during which a security guard and an Additional SHO were killed.
On the identification of the suspects, three pistols allegedly used in the crimes were also recovered.
Following the incident, SP Warsak Muhammad Arshad Khan arrived at the scene along with a heavy police contingent, while the Warsak Division Police launched a search operation to arrest the fleeing attackers.
Police have also tightened checking and set up checkpoints at various locations across the city. Officials said the suspects involved in the firing would soon be arrested.
