The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has issued an important advisory for Pakistani students pursuing medical education in Afghanistan.

According to the PMDC, Pakistani students who obtain medical degrees from Afghanistan will not be eligible to register as doctors in Pakistan, nor will they be allowed to practice medicine in the country.

The council stated that medical institutions in Afghanistan are not included in the recognized list of the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG). As a result, graduates from these institutions will also be ineligible to sit for Pakistan's National Registration Examination (NRE).

The PMDC has advised students to verify an institution's ECFMG recognition before seeking admission to any medical college in Afghanistan.
