Bannu, March 15 – A police officer was shot dead in a targeted attack by unidentified motorcycle-riding assailants in the jurisdiction of Cantt Police Station, Bannu. The attackers managed to escape after the incident, while the slain officer’s body was shifted to the hospital for post-mortem examination.
According to police, the deceased officer, Arman Khan, was a Frontier Reserve Police (FRP) personnel and a resident of Mamandkhel. He was assigned duty at the Judicial Complex and was on his way from home on a motorcycle when he was targeted on Bannu-Miran Shah Road.

This attack comes just days after a major terrorist assault on Bannu Cantt on March 4, in which security forces thwarted the attack, eliminating all 16 assailants while losing five personnel in the line of duty.
