An on-duty police officer, Bastar Ali (No. 168), was injured in an attack by unidentified terrorists on a polio vaccination team in the Wargari Sub Division Bettani area of Lakki Marwat Police Station. In response, the police engaged the attackers, killing one of the terrorists on the spot.
The police recovered a Kalashnikov, ammunition, and a hand grenade from the deceased terrorist. Following the incident, a heavy police force arrived, cordoning off the area and initiating a search operation.

The injured officer was transported to DHOQ Hospital for treatment and is reportedly in stable condition. The body of the deceased terrorist has been sent for a post-mortem examination.
In a related incident, the Levies Force in Chaman district, Balochistan, was attacked during a polio campaign by participants of a protest sit-in, resulting in injuries to two officials. Both injured officials have been hospitalized.
As a consequence of the attack, the polio campaign has been temporarily halted in several areas. To manage the situation, a heavy contingent of Chaman forces has been deployed.
