According to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, two people have died and three others have been injured in various incidents of roofs and walls collapsing due to heavy rains across the province since August 30.
PDMA said the deceased include a woman and a child, while the injured comprise a man, a woman and a child.
Heavy rains have damaged a total of nine houses across the province. Five houses were partially damaged, while four were completely destroyed.
According to PDMA, rain-related incidents were reported in Buner, Mardan, Mohmand and Shangla.

PDMA, Rescue 1122, district administrations and other relevant departments are coordinating with each other, while relief activities are underway.
The Director General of PDMA has urged citizens to avoid unnecessary travel, stay away from sensitive tourist destinations and follow alerts and advisories issued by government authorities.
PDMA’s Emergency Operations Centre is fully operational. Citizens can contact the free helpline 1700 to report any untoward incident, receive updates on weather conditions and obtain other information.
