Storms Batter KP and Punjab: 6 Dead, Roads Blocked, Homes Damaged

In KP, hailstorms and rain caused flash floods in streams, with three more deaths and seven injuries reported from different districts.

Torrential rains and powerful windstorms swept through various parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab, resulting in six fatalities and widespread damage. 

In KP, hailstorms and rain caused flash floods in streams, with three more deaths and seven injuries reported from different districts.

In Peshawar, strong winds uprooted trees and damaged solar panels and vehicles. In Attock, heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning was recorded.

In Muzaffarabad, a cloudburst killed three people and damaged several homes and a mosque. 

Landslides led to the closure of Neelum Valley Road at eight points, while snowfall continued intermittently at Babusar Top in Diamer.

Rain and landslides also blocked the Karakoram Highway in Diamer and Lower Kohistan.

Meanwhile, dust storms and rain hit parts of Punjab. In Multan, strong winds knocked down electric poles, disrupting power supply in several areas. In Shujabad, a house wall collapsed due to a storm, killing a 10-year-old girl.

Authorities have warned of continued thunderstorms, rain, and hail in KP, Punjab, Islamabad, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan until May 31. 

The NDMA has issued advisories to emergency operation centers in response to the ongoing weather conditions.
