Peshawar: A total of 27 traffic accidents were reported to Rescue 1122 in Peshawar within a single day on the occasion of Independence Day, leaving 46 people injured.
According to rescue officials, more than 90 people were injured in traffic accidents that were not reported to Rescue 1122. These injured people were shifted to various hospitals by citizens on their own.
Rescue 1122 said that incidents involving 16 people drowning were also reported from six districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on the occasion of Independence Day.

According to rescue officials, two people drowned in Munda, Mohmand. The body of one victim was recovered, while the search for the other is still underway. In Munda, Charsadda, two people also drowned, one of whom was recovered.

Five people drowned at Hund in Swabi, while in Lower Dir, rescue teams safely pulled out a person who had fallen into the water.
In Buner, five people drowned but were rescued by local residents, while in Khanpur, Haripur, one person drowned and his body was recovered.
