TANK: Two police personnel were martyred and two others injured in a blast near a police armoured vehicle on the Waziristan Highway close to Masha Jan Bungalow in Tank district, police said.

According to police, the armoured vehicle was on a routine patrol when the explosion occurred near Masha Jan Bungalow. 

As a result, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Fareedullah and Constable Akhtar Zaman embraced martyrdom, while Constables Abdul Malik and Qudratullah sustained injuries.

Police said the martyred and injured personnel were shifted to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital for medical treatment and necessary procedures.

Following the incident, security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation. Authorities said an investigation is underway to determine the nature of the blast and identify those responsible.
