Khawarij attacked a Rescue 1122 ambulance near the Aman Mela checkpoint in the Darazinda area of Dera Ismail Khan while it was transporting injured people to a hospital, killing two rescue workers and injuring another.

According to the Rescue 1122 media coordinator, two officials, Imtiaz and Sharif, were killed in the attack, while another official, Anees, was injured.

Security sources said security forces are continuing an operation against the Khawarij in the area following the attack.

The injured rescue worker was shifted to a hospital for medical treatment.

Earlier today, Khawarij targeted the Aman Mela checkpoint in Darazinda, Dera Ismail Khan, in a suspected suicide attack when an explosives-laden vehicle rammed into the checkpoint. The blast killed 12 people, including a two-year-old child and two women, and injured more than 30 others.

According to police sources, the explosion occurred at the anti-smuggling Aman Mela police checkpoint on the D.I. Khan-Quetta Road after an explosives-laden vehicle crashed into the checkpoint.

Sources said the dead included police and Customs officials as well as civilians, while more than 30 people, including Customs and police personnel and civilians, were injured in the blast.

Rescue officials said some of the injured are in critical condition, raising fears that the death toll could increase.
