A transgender person was shot dead in the Tehkal area of Peshawar late Tuesday night after unknown assailants opened fire inside a local plaza.

The victim, identified as Asad, succumbed to injuries on the spot. Police rushed to the scene and shifted the body to the mortuary for a post-mortem examination.

The motive behind the attack remains unclear, and an investigation is underway.

In a separate incident in the Serah Darga area of Bannu, a woman was killed and three others, including two children, were injured when, reportedly, a quadcopter strike during an operation targeting militants accidentally hit a civilian home.

Local sources said the strike was aimed at suspected members of the Zafran alias Fateh militant group active in the region. However, the explosive landed on the house of a man named Mir Aslam, causing civilian casualties. The injured were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, in the village of Malazai in Tank district, unknown gunmen stormed a house and opened indiscriminate fire, killing three people, including two brothers.

Police identified the deceased as Sardar Ahmed and Aizaz Ahmed, sons of Gul Ahmed and residents of Malazai, and their friend Imran, son of Gul Badshah from Lakki Marwat's Michan Khel area.

The bodies were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital for autopsy. Police have launched a search operation to track down the attackers.
