A viral video from the Gandigar area in Upper Dir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has prompted swift police action, leading to the arrest of a teacher accused of physically assaulting a student.
According to police sources, the District Police Officer (DPO) Upper Dir and the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Wari took immediate notice of the incident. After verifying the video, authorities initiated prompt action.
During the investigation, it was revealed that a fifth-grade student, Adnan Khan, was beaten with a stick by his teacher, Sultan Nabi, for not completing homework. Police stated that the child suffered severe pain and injuries in both arms, causing concern among his family.

A case (FIR No. 87, dated April 19, 2026) has been registered at Gandigar Police Station under the Child Protection Act. The accused has been arrested and placed in custody.
Police added that further investigation is underway, and strict legal action will continue against those involved in violence against children.
