NOWSHERA: A widow was allegedly killed by her brothers in Mian Isa after she secretly contracted a marriage.

According to police, the victim, identified as Tasmia, went to her brothers' house in Mian Isa on May 29 and subsequently went missing. Following a complaint by her husband, Fazal Rahman, police registered a case.

The main suspect, the victim's elder brother Sherbaz Khan, has been arrested. Police said the suspect confessed to killing his sister, alleging that she was first stoned, then shot dead. Her body was allegedly dismembered, packed into sacks, and dumped into a river.

A court of the Senior Civil Judge/Judicial Magistrate, Nowshera, granted the accused a two-day physical remand.

DSP Akora Khattak Adnan Azam said the victim had allegedly contracted three marriages, and that her third husband had died in Attock, Punjab, two years ago.

Police said efforts are underway to recover the victim's remains with the assistance of the Irrigation Department, Rescue 1122, and other relevant authorities. The investigation is ongoing.
