A case of an alleged gang-rape attempt has been reported at Qazi Hussain Ahmad Medical Complex in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Nowshera district, after which police have registered a case against three security guards, while the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Minister has taken notice of the incident.

According to the FIR registered at Thana Kalan, Nowshera, a 25-year-old woman from Daudzai (Ismail Khel) was present at the hospital to look after her husband, who was under treatment. The woman stated that on June 8, 2026, around 9:00 PM, she had gone out of the ward to get food for her husband.

The FIR further states that upon returning, she asked a security guard for directions. The guard allegedly took her to the security room, locked the door, and attempted to sexually assault her.

The woman told police that two more security guards later entered the room and also allegedly made inappropriate advances toward her. She said she resisted and raised an alarm, after which the accused left the scene.

According to police, after the incident and in the presence of hospital staff and other individuals, the suspects were identified as Umair, Nadeem Khan, and Abbas. A case has been registered against them under relevant legal sections, and an investigation is underway.

Police officials added that the woman’s medical examination has been completed, while investigations are ongoing from different angles. Efforts to arrest the suspects have also been initiated.

On the other hand, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Minister Mian Khaleeq-ur-Rehman has taken notice of the incident, sought a report from the concerned authorities, and directed that legal action be taken against those responsible.
