HANGU: A convoy of over 30 small vehicles departed from the Tall-Tor Pul checkpoint towards the Kurram district under tight security arrangements. According to police officials, more vehicles are being dispatched, and over 100 freight carriers are also set to leave today.

The resumption of convoys comes after a deadly attack on February 17 in Lower Kurram, which led to their suspension. Since then, Upper Kurram has received no supplies, leaving markets empty. Traders report severe shortages, with residents struggling to access necessities and surviving on dry bread.

Business owners also highlighted the financial burden caused by parked vehicles in Tall and Hangu. Trucks have been stranded for months, incurring heavy costs.

Meanwhile, the protest outside the Parachinar Press Club against road blockages and unmet demands has entered its third day. Protest organizers stated that large crowds continue to gather, vowing to continue demonstrations until their demands are fulfilled.

Road closures and fuel shortages have also forced the shutdown of educational institutions in Upper Kurram, disrupting academic activities and worsening the crisis.
