Father and Daughter Injured in Landmine Blast in Lower Kurram, Armed Attack on Mangak Village

A landmine explosion in the Lower Kurram district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa left a father and his daughter severely injured.

According to sources, 45-year-old Khan Muhammad was collecting firewood with his 11-year-old daughter in the mountainous area of Khapyanga when they accidentally stepped on a landmine, triggering a powerful explosion. Both sustained serious injuries and were immediately shifted to Tall Hospital. However, there are no updates on their current condition.

Following the blast, a heavy contingent of police reached the site, collected evidence, and launched a formal investigation.

Meanwhile, unidentified armed militants reportedly attacked Mangak village in Lower Kurram, but they fled after retaliatory fire. According to the police, the village was targeted late at night with heavy and automatic weapons, though no casualties have been reported so far.

Commenting on the incident, tribal leader Jalal Bangash condemned the repeated violations of the peace agreement and stated:
"The government must take action against the attackers as per the agreement and should not force us to respond ourselves."
