Security forces killed 18 terrorists in two separate operations in Balochistan, while four more were arrested in Khuzdar as they attempted to escape disguised in women’s clothing.

According to officials, a joint operation was carried out in the Ghaza Band area on the outskirts of Quetta based on intelligence about the presence of Indian-sponsored militants.

During the raid, a fierce exchange of fire took place in the mountainous terrain, leaving 10 terrorists dead. Two security personnel were also injured. A large cache of weapons and explosives was recovered.

Police confirmed that the slain militants had been involved in multiple attacks on security forces and other acts of sabotage in the region.

In a separate intelligence-based operation in Sherani district, eight members of Fitna al-Khawarij were killed in a gun battle. Security sources said arms and ammunition were also seized at the site.

Officials said the detainees had been linked to several acts of terrorism. Clearance operations are continuing to eliminate remaining threats.

Balochistan has witnessed a spike in terrorist incidents in recent months, prompting intensified counter-terrorism operations.

Just a day earlier, a suicide bomber attacked the Frontier Corps (FC) headquarters on Quetta’s Hali Road, killing at least 10 people including two FC personnel, while six terrorists including the bomber were neutralized.

According to the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS), Balochistan saw 28 terrorist attacks in August 2025 alone, leaving 52 people dead, including 23 security personnel, 21 civilians, and 8 militants.

At least 45 others were injured, and five people were abducted. Security forces, in turn, killed 50 militants during the month, the highest monthly total since June 2015.
