Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Afridi held a telephonic conversation with Afghanistan’s Ambassador Sardar Ahmad Khan, discussing matters of mutual interest, with a particular focus on the repatriation of Afghan refugees.
During the exchange, both sides reviewed ongoing arrangements and coordination related to the return of Afghan nationals. The Afghan ambassador appreciated the Chief Minister’s visit to repatriation centers and acknowledged a noticeable improvement in the overall situation.
The envoy also expressed gratitude over the increased number of NADRA mobile vans and requested further expansion of registration facilities. He further urged that refugees who have completed their registration process should be allowed to return to Afghanistan without delay.

Chief Minister Sohail Afridi reiterated that Afghan refugees are considered brothers and that Pakistan continues to hope for improved conditions for them. He said refugees are guests and the provincial government is ensuring all possible facilities for them, with further improvements underway.
He added that instructions had already been issued to increase the number of registration counters and NADRA vans, and more expansion would be carried out where needed.
Afridi further stated that he is personally monitoring repatriation camps and the facilities being provided there on a daily basis to ensure smooth and humane arrangements for returning refugees.
Meanwhile, a delegation of Afghan consulate officials, led by Dr Noorul Amin, Qari Ismatullah, Maulvi Syed Ahmad Bacha, visited the holding camp near Hamza Baba shrine in Landi Kotal, where Afghan families returning to their country are being processed.

Assistant Commissioner Landi Kotal, Inamullah Wazir, briefed the delegation on arrangements at the camp. The Afghan officials expressed satisfaction over facilities and measures taken to ease the rush of returning citizens.

They also assured that practical steps are being taken to facilitate the return of stranded Pakistani transporters and drivers from the Afghan side, adding that the issue is expected to be resolved soon.
