The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has released Rs3.6 billion to address the longstanding financial difficulties faced by pensioners in the province’s public universities. 

According to officials, the funding aims to eliminate all pension-related liabilities across government-run universities.

The University of Science and Technology Bannu welcomed the move and passed a unanimous resolution lauding the initiative. 

The university senate praised Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and Minister for Higher Education Meena Khan Afridi for their education-friendly vision.

According to the resolution, the current government has taken several concrete steps to improve access to education and promote higher learning in the province.

Speaking on the development, Minister Meena Khan Afridi stated, “Our government's top priority is to promote higher education across the province, and we are working to eliminate pension liabilities in all public universities.”

He further noted that Chancellor Ali Amin Gandapur has made the development of universities his mission, and the acknowledgment from UST Bannu’s senate reflects growing confidence in the government’s education policies.
