Security forces are continuing their operation following the terrorist attack on the Jaffer Express in the Bolan region. So far, 190 hostages have been safely rescued, while 30 militants have been killed.
According to security sources, during the attack, the terrorists placed suicide bombers among the hostages, using women and children as human shields. This has necessitated extreme caution in the ongoing operation.
Security officials confirmed that 37 injured individuals had been transported for immediate medical treatment, with several reported in critical condition. The rescue operation was conducted with the utmost precision and care to ensure the safe evacuation of hostages.

One of the rescued passengers shared his ordeal, stating, “We heard gunfire, and by the grace of God, the army and FC personnel brought us to safety.”
Meanwhile, a help desk has been established at Rawalpindi Railway Station to provide information regarding the affected passengers. According to DS Nooruddin Dawar, the desk is in constant contact with control rooms in Peshawar and Quetta to ensure that real-time updates reach the concerned families.
The attack took place near Paneer Railway Station, where terrorists hijacked the Jaffer Express, taking 400 passengers hostage. The train’s driver was injured in an explosion, after which militants surrounded the train inside a tunnel.
According to senior railway official Imran Hayat, 10 people, including the train driver, lost their lives in the attack.
Pakistan Railways CEO Amir Ali Baloch has suspended all passenger and freight train services to and from Balochistan until security agencies declare the area safe.
Security forces remain engaged in the operation, and further updates are expected as the situation develops.
