Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has said that a false narrative of corruption is being built against the provincial government and that certain elements are trying to mislead the public.
He said that anyone with evidence of corruption should bring it to the CM Secretariat, where immediate action would be taken. The chief minister directed all departments and ministers to ensure legal action within three days against baseless allegations; otherwise, action would be taken against the relevant officers on the fourth day.
Addressing a provincial cabinet meeting in Peshawar, the chief minister welcomed the newly inducted ministers, advisers and special assistants into the cabinet.
He said the Health Department should conduct a complete inquiry into the allegations raised during doctors’ press conferences and present the allegations, evidence and facts before the nation. He added that accountability would apply to everyone and indiscriminate action would be taken if corruption was proven.
The chief minister condemned the treatment meted out to elected representatives in Islamabad, saying their purpose in visiting the capital was only to raise a voice for the treatment of Imran Khan. He alleged that the “fake federal government” was responding to the voices of the public and parliamentarians with bullets, adding that three of his companions were shot.

He said the tradition of opening fire on political workers and citizens was extremely dangerous for the country. According to the chief minister, the provincial cabinet demanded that Imran Khan be treated in the presence of his family, under the supervision of his personal doctors and at the best possible hospital. He also demanded the federal government and relevant institutions ensure immediate and quality medical treatment for the former premier.
The chief minister further said that Bushra Bibi is a non-political woman and is being kept imprisoned to pressure Imran Khan. He appealed to the judiciary and national and international human rights organisations to play their role in protecting Imran Khan’s fundamental rights.
During the meeting, the provincial cabinet gave in-principle approval to merge the Malakand Levies into the police force. According to the chief minister, a cabinet committee would formulate recommendations regarding the financial, legal and administrative aspects of the merger.
The provincial cabinet also strongly condemned the alleged drone explosion in the Shahi Tangi area of Bajaur in which two innocent schoolchildren were killed. The chief minister said the government stood with the bereaved families and would provide every possible assistance to the families of the martyred children.
