Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced that the “Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding” between the United States and Iran has been electronically signed. Under the agreement, both countries have agreed to resolve the ongoing dispute through diplomatic channels and negotiations.
In a statement issued on social media, the Prime Minister said that he had endorsed the agreement in his capacity as a mediator. According to him, both countries are committed to reducing tensions and achieving a peaceful resolution to the conflict, and the agreement has come into effect immediately.

The Prime Minister stated that, as part of the initial measures, Iran will reopen the Strait of Hormuz, while the United States will lift its naval blockade on Iran. He described the development as an important step toward peace, stability, and the reduction of tensions in the region.
Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump said that if Iran complies with the terms of the agreement and demonstrates a positive approach, it could be granted access to $300 billion in frozen funds.
According to Trump, Iran has assured that it will not develop nuclear weapons, and technical negotiations regarding its nuclear program are expected to begin soon. He also praised the diplomatic role played by Pakistan and Qatar in facilitating this progress.
