The movement opposing the FATA merger has entered its next phase, with the approval of committee formations and the adoption of the name 'FATA Loya Jirga' or 'Supreme Council' for a 48-member committee.

A meeting of the 48-member Supreme Council was held at Haji Baz Gul's petrol pump on Kohat Road in Zangli, Badhber. Speaking on the occasion, the movement's president, Malik Bismillah Khan, stated that the FATA Loya Jirga had unanimously named the 48-member committee as the Supreme Council. The council also endorsed the proposals presented in a meeting held at Malik Zada Fazal Karim’s hujra in Hayatabad, including the formation of various committees and the adoption of the FATA National Jirga’s new name, FATA Loya Jirga.

During the meeting, the Supreme Council appointed Shehzad Afridi from Jamrud Press Club as Media Secretary, Engineer Tor Gul from Kurram Agency as Finance Secretary, and Azam Khan Mehsud as General Secretary. Other designations were left to the discretion of Malik Bismillah Khan, the President of FATA Loya Jirga.
