Monsoon Flood Risk—Rescue 1122 Establishes 40 Temporary Water Rescue Points Across 14 Districts

Amid the ongoing monsoon rains and heightened risk of flooding as well as drowning incidents in rivers and streams, Rescue 1122 Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has established 40 temporary water rescue points across 14 districts of the province.

According to Rescue 1122 spokesperson Bilal Ahmad Faizi, the initiative aims to ensure rapid response and effective rescue operations in any emergency situation during the monsoon season.

District-wise details show that the highest number of points—seven—have been set up in Swat. Similarly, four each have been established in Charsadda and Nowshera. Three rescue points each have been set up in Dera Ismail Khan, Upper Chitral, and Khyber, while two each have been established in Peshawar, Shangla, Mansehra, Lower Chitral, Swabi, Lower Dir, Upper Dir, and Malakand.

The spokesperson further stated that each temporary water rescue point is equipped with trained divers, modern rescue equipment, life jackets, lifebuoys, rescue ropes, and other essential gear to ensure a swift and effective response in emergencies.

Rescue 1122 has urged citizens to avoid rivers, streams, and other dangerous water bodies during rainfall and to strictly follow safety precautions.
