According to preliminary and unofficial results of the Gilgit-Baltistan elections, the Pakistan Peoples Party has emerged as the largest party with 10 seats, while the Pakistan Muslim League (N) secured 4 seats.

Independent candidates, including those backed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, won a total of 7 seats, while one seat went to Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen.

Following the results, there is a strong possibility of a coalition government between the PPP and PML-N in Gilgit-Baltistan. According to sources, under the proposed alliance, the office of the Chief Minister may go to the PPP, while the Governor’s position could be allocated to the PML-N. A 60/40 formula for the distribution of ministerial portfolios is also being considered.
