Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister, Sohail Afridi, has said that the province has historically been treated like a “stepmother,” with various actors using it as a testing ground, which has led to instability. He vowed that KP will no longer be subjected to such experiments.

Speaking at the annual convocation of the University of Engineering and Technology, CM Afridi stated that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has no shortage of talent.

Young people in the province are skilled across education, health, sports, and other sectors, but the real challenge remains a lack of opportunities.

He added that KP has repeatedly been used for experiments in the past, causing unrest in the province, but he will not allow this to continue.

The Chief Minister emphasized that he will not seek favors for himself but is willing to sit with anyone for the province’s welfare, regardless of personal dislike.

Afridi further highlighted that KP has consistently faced discrimination and that some people do not want the province’s population to progress.

He said the federal government has withheld over Rs 400 billion from KP, which the provincial government intends to recover for the benefit of the people.

He also noted that universities are producing large numbers of unemployed youth, but the provincial government is committed to ensuring that young graduates do not remain jobless.

CM Afridi concluded by saying that together, everyone must work to make Pakistan a great country.
