The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial cabinet has approved the termination of cases registered on political grounds during the events of May 9 and 10 that lacked evidence, according to Special Assistant for Information Shafi Jan.
The decision was taken during a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi, where several key matters were discussed and approved.
The cabinet sanctioned a special grant of Rs150 million for the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), while the inquiry into the Radio Pakistan Peshawar incident was handed over to a special committee of the provincial assembly.

The cabinet also endorsed the implementation of recommendations put forward by the committee regarding the abolition of the Action in Aid of Civil Power law.
During the meeting, officials briefed the cabinet on the province’s wheat stocks, inter-provincial transportation, and the future strategy. The committee established to oversee additional wheat procurement was granted authority to take decisions if needed.
Moreover, the cabinet approved financial assistance for two patients requiring kidney and bone marrow transplants and sanctioned the release of district development funds to ensure the timely completion of ongoing development projects.
