The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has disbursed two billion rupees to reinstate health card services. Health Advisor, Dr. Riaz Anwar, stated that additional improvements and the rectification of administrative shortcomings in health card services are underway.

These funds were released on the special directives of Chief Minister Azam Khan. The health advisor highlighted that Medical Teaching Institutions (MTIs) are curtailing unnecessary developmental projects in hospitals, with a renewed focus on patient care.

It's worth noting that health card services were temporarily suspended in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) two days ago. The State Life Insurance Company panel had instructed hospitals not to admit new patients under the health card scheme.

According to sources within the health department, this decision was necessitated by a temporary financial crisis in the province. Secretary of Health, Mahmood Aslam, confirmed that discussions with the State Life Insurance Company are ongoing.

The finance department is set to release the allocated 2 billion rupees, and health card services have been reinstated following this disbursement.
