The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has issued a flood alert, warning that low-lying areas along the Indus River could face inundation due to increased water discharge from Tarbela Dam.

According to officials, spillways at Tarbela were opened after the water level rose significantly, causing river flow to surge between 260,000 and 270,000 cusecs. District administrations, rescue agencies, and relevant departments have been placed on high alert to manage any emergency.
