Fuel stations across Peshawar will remain closed due to a strike by petroleum dealers protesting the implementation of an advance tax. The strike is in response to the government's decision to impose a 0.5% advance tax on petroleum dealers in the recent budget.
The dealers argue that the tax makes it impossible for their businesses to remain profitable and are demanding its withdrawal. The strike will persist until the government rescinds the tax.
