Most parts of Peshawar and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are experiencing extremely hot and dry weather, with a heatwave gripping the region, the Meteorological Department reported on Tuesday. Light rain, however, is expected in some upper areas.
According to the department, Peshawar skies remain clear while temperatures continue to soar. The city recorded a minimum temperature of 23°C, with the mercury expected to climb up to 46°C during the day.
The humidity level stands at 38%, which could further intensify the perceived heat.

Bannu recorded the highest temperature in the province at a scorching 47°C, reflecting the severity of the ongoing heatwave.
The Met Office forecasted that most plain districts in the province would remain extremely hot, while light rain is likely in parts of Chitral, Upper Dir, Swat, and Kohistan.
Residents have been advised to avoid unnecessary outdoor activities, stay well-hydrated, and take precautionary measures to cope with the intense heat.
