Charsadda native Junaid Khan, a duty officer assigned to the Jaffar Express, has been safely rescued after being held hostage during an attack. Khan expressed immense relief, stating that his release is a huge comfort to his family, who had been deeply worried about his safety.
According to security sources, the operation was a significant success, with authorities also freeing a total of 190 hostages—comprising 58 men, 31 women, and 15 children—and neutralizing 33 terrorists. The rescue operation, conducted under strict security measures, prevented further casualties and restored confidence in the nation's transportation network.

In a show of national solidarity, the National Assembly unanimously passed a resolution condemning the terrorist hijacking of the Jaffar Express, decrying any acts that endanger civilian lives and destabilize national peace. The resolution reinforces Pakistan's commitment to taking all necessary steps to eradicate terrorism and protect its citizens.
