The case of Afghan singers and musicians was heard in the Peshawar High Court. The Afghan artists appeared before a two-member bench comprising Justice Sahibzada Asadullah and Justice Waqar Ahmed.

During the hearing, Afghan singers Hashmatullah Umeed, Altaf Hairat, Khatira, Laila Nihal, and Dunya Ghazal informed the court about their difficulties.

They stated that there is a ban on music in Afghanistan and that their lives and property are under serious threat, so they cannot return to Afghanistan.

They added that, as artists, their problems are different from those of ordinary Afghan citizens, and they face special risks.

The judges asked questions and said that this is an important matter that requires careful consideration. The court set February 18 for the next hearing of the case.

It is worth noting that around 150 petitions have reportedly been filed by Afghan musicians, and more arguments will be presented in the next hearing.

The case was represented by lawyer Babar Yousafzai.
