Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Muhammad Sohail Afridi, chaired an important meeting to review the utilization of development funds across the province.

The meeting reviewed the expenditure and progress of projects under the Annual Development Programme (ADP) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, merged districts ADP, Accelerated Implementation Programme (AIP), and foreign-funded development portfolio.

According to the briefing, the AIP stood at the top with 92 percent fund utilization, while the merged districts ADP recorded 94 percent utilization. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa ADP followed with 88 percent utilization.

Officials informed the meeting that progress on ongoing development schemes in various sectors was satisfactory, adding that the target of 100 percent utilization of released funds is expected to be achieved soon.

Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi expressed satisfaction over the effective utilization of development funds and the overall pace of project implementation.

He stated that health and education remain the top priorities of the provincial government. He added that special focus will be given to these sectors, along with other social services, in the upcoming Annual Development Programme.

The Chief Minister further noted that increasing pressure on hospitals in Peshawar requires exceptional attention and additional measures to improve healthcare services.

He assured that there will be no compromise on providing quality and timely medical facilities to the public.

Muhammad Sohail Afridi emphasized that priority will be given to completing public importance projects, especially those nearing completion, on a fast-track basis.

He reiterated that timely completion of development schemes is essential for the province’s progress and public welfare, adding that the government is committed to ensuring that the benefits of development reach all areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
