CHARSADDA – Nadia Gulzar, sister of PTI MNA Shandana Gulzar, has accused her former husband, Adam Ali Khan, and senior government officials of interfering in a contentious land dispute that has now claimed two lives.
Speaking at a press conference in Bashir Khan Qila, Charsadda, on May 23, she warned that if any harm comes to her or her family, Peshawar Commissioner Riaz Mehsud, Mardan RPO, and PTI MNA Fazal Muhammad Khan should be held accountable.
According to Nadia, her ex-husband, a resident of Doshera, Sardheri, Charsadda, had divorced her three years ago and granted her 82 kanals of land in Azizabad as part of her dower (haq mehr).

She said she spent years fighting the case in court and eventually received a favorable verdict. With police assistance, she regained possession of the land but claimed her former husband exerted pressure to prevent any buyers from purchasing it.
Nadia said she eventually sold the land to Afzal Basheer Umarzai, brother of former MPA Shakil Basheer Khan, and officially transferred ownership. However, when Afzal went to take possession on May 15, Adam Ali Khan and his armed associates allegedly opened fire, killing two of Afzal’s companions. An FIR was registered at Sardheri Police Station against Adam Khan and others involved.
In a retaliatory move, Adam Ali Khan filed a counter FIR, naming Shakil Basheer Khan’s two brothers, their associates, and Nadia Gulzar under Section 109 of the Pakistan Penal Code for abetment.
In the FIR, he claimed that around 40 armed men, allegedly at Nadia's behest, arrived at his hujra with the intent to forcibly occupy the land and opened fire on him and his associates. The FIR further alleges that the attack was premeditated and orchestrated by Nadia Gulzar and her allies to unlawfully seize the property.
During the press conference, Nadia accused Peshawar Commissioner Riaz Mehsud, allegedly a business partner of her ex-husband, of misusing his official position against her. She also claimed that PTI MNA Fazal Muhammad Khan was influencing the police investigation to protect Adam Khan.
Shakil Umarzai, ANP district president and brother of the land buyer, maintained that all legal procedures were followed during the land purchase. “If buying land is a crime, I’m ready to return it. But who will answer for the injustice and bloodshed we have suffered?” he said, appealing to the Chief Justice of Pakistan to take notice and ensure justice for the victims.
Adam Ali Khan was unavailable for comment despite multiple attempts by TNN to reach him.
