The village of Shahi Dara in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Shangla district has been completely destroyed by a massive flood, with houses, markets, and even the only girls’ primary school washed away. Media reports indicate that the destruction of the main road has left the area cut off, halting vital relief efforts from reaching the affected population.

Locals have expressed frustration, noting that despite 10 days having passed since the flood, several homes and streets in Zahidabad remain buried under debris, with local volunteers and government agencies still working on the cleanup.

Meanwhile, in Gilgit-Baltistan's Ghizer district, a bridge connecting Chitor Khund to Dain has collapsed due to flooding, severing the local population’s access to Gahkuch and Gilgit for over two weeks. This has caused significant hardship for residents who rely on these routes for essential services.

Relief operations are ongoing in areas like Tali Das and Rawshin, which were impacted by a glacier burst. However, the closure of the Gilgit-Shandur Road has made it difficult for aid to reach the upper regions, complicating the situation further.

A spokesperson for the Gilgit-Baltistan government stated that the only long-term solution for the residents of Tali Das would be the establishment of a relocation village.

The government is working with the federal authorities to build alternative settlements for the displaced, while also seeking federal assistance for the reconstruction of the RCC bridge between Dain and Chitor Khund.
