The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Wildlife Department has decided to ban the use of electronic calls and decoys during hunting. A notification has been sent to the deputy commissioners of 18 districts in this regard.
According to the Wildlife Department, hunters often use electronic devices that mimic bird sounds to attract them to a specific area. While these devices offer illegal advantages to hunters, they pose significant harm to bird populations.
The department clarified that the migratory bird hunting season in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa began on September 1, and using electronic calls, decoys, or similar devices during this period is strictly prohibited. District administrations have been instructed to impose restrictions under Section 144 for 90 days and to take legal action against any violations.

Additionally, the Wildlife Department has announced that hunting will only be permitted three days a week—Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Hunting is completely banned at 52 protected sites, including water reservoirs across the province.
The hunting season for ducks and waterfowl will end on March 16, and strict action will be taken against any violations of the hunting laws. This measure aims to ensure the protection of bird species.
