The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has introduced new annual fixed tax rates for various business sectors, commercial activities, professional services, and industrial establishments across the province. According to the government, the aim of this initiative is to broaden the tax base, document business activities, and increase provincial revenues.
Under the newly issued schedule, different annual tax rates have been assigned to different business categories. Petrol, diesel, and CNG filling stations will pay an annual tax of Rs. 35,000, while real estate agencies, car dealers, video shops, and internet cafés will be charged Rs. 10,000 per year.
Independent practicing chartered accountants will be required to pay Rs. 25,000 annually, while vehicle service stations will be taxed at Rs. 10,000 per year. Similarly, transporters and transport companies will pay Rs. 15,000 annually within provincial headquarters and Rs. 10,000 in other areas.
Members of the stock exchange will be subject to an annual tax of Rs. 60,000, while money changers will face the highest rates. Money changers operating in provincial headquarters will pay Rs. 100,000 annually, while those in other areas will pay Rs. 50,000.

Gyms and health fitness centers will be taxed at Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 5,000 per year, respectively. Jewelers will also be taxed at the same rates as money changers, with businesses in provincial headquarters paying Rs. 100,000 annually and those in other areas paying Rs. 50,000.
Department stores and large retail marts will be charged Rs. 100,000 annually, while general and grocery stores will pay Rs. 5,000. Electronics stores will be taxed at Rs. 25,000, cable operators and printing presses at Rs. 10,000, and pesticide dealers at Rs. 6,000 annually.
Tobacco dealers and exporters will pay Rs. 25,000 per year, while wholesale dealers, distributors, and agency holders will be charged Rs. 35,000 annually. Chemists, druggists, and medical stores will be subject to a tax of Rs. 20,000 per year.
Tailoring shops specializing only in shalwar kameez stitching will pay Rs. 5,000 annually, while tailors offering shalwar kameez, waistcoat, and pant-shirt stitching services will be taxed at Rs. 15,000 per year.
In the industrial sector, flour mills will pay Rs. 40,000 annually. Brick kilns, shuttering businesses, sand depots, and suppliers of construction materials will be taxed at Rs. 20,000 per year.
For furniture showrooms and workshops, tax rates will depend on the number of employees. Businesses with up to 10 employees will pay Rs. 15,000 annually, while those employing more than 10 workers will be charged Rs. 30,000.
Honey shops, wholesalers, and exporters will be taxed at Rs. 10,000 annually. Beauty parlors will pay Rs. 15,000, while aesthetic clinics will be subject to an annual tax of Rs. 40,000.
In the sweets and baking sector, businesses with up to five employees will pay Rs. 10,000 annually, while those with more than five employees will be charged Rs. 15,000. Likewise, marble businesses and associated auxiliary factories will be taxed at Rs. 20,000 per year.
