The death toll from the ongoing clashes in Kurram district has risen to 99, with 132 people injured, according to official sources. Over the past 24 hours, ten more fatalities were reported, while another body was recovered from the site of an attack on a convoy, compounding the toll from recent violence.
Speaking to TNN, Deputy Commissioner Kurram, Javedullah Mehsud, stated that separate jirgas were held between the Alizai and Oti Zai tribes today. He added that a grand jirga aiming for a district-wide ceasefire will convene tomorrow. The meeting will include religious scholars and tribal elders from three districts—Orakzai, Kohat, and Hangu.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized strict measures to enforce peace, warning that any incidents of firing would prompt aerial shelling by helicopters in the affected areas.

The conflict's resolution efforts gained momentum after the government's jirga, led by Provincial Information Advisor Barrister Saif, visited Parachinar. During a press briefing, Saif announced that the warring tribes had agreed to a seven-day ceasefire and committed to exchanging prisoners and returning deceased individuals to their families.
The unrest escalated on Thursday, November 21, when a convoy of 200 vehicles traveling between Peshawar and Parachinar came under heavy gunfire at Ochhat and Manduri Charkhel. The assault resulted in the immediate deaths of 45 individuals, including women and children, leaving the region in shock and mourning.
The situation remains tense, with local authorities urging calm while making intensified efforts to restore peace and prevent further loss of life.
