Efforts to restore peace in the Kurram district remain inconclusive as the grand peace jirga has yet to be resolved. According to sources, yesterday's negotiations ended without progress, but talks are set to continue in Kohat today.

Meanwhile, all routes, including the main Peshawar-Parachinar highway, remain blocked, leading to acute shortages of food, fuel, and medicines. The lack of medical care has further exacerbated the suffering of residents. With gas supplies exhausted, bakeries and hotels have shut down, adding to the hardships the public faces.

MNA Engineer Hamid Hussain emphasized that reopening and securing the main highway is the only sustainable solution for lasting peace.

Deputy Commissioner Javedullah Mehsud stated that efforts are underway to normalize the situation and assist affected residents.

The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has provided PKR 150 million and relief supplies for 1,000 families to the Deputy Commissioner of Kurram. PKR 20 million and essential items for 150 families have also been supplied to the Deputy Commissioner of Hangu.

It is worth noting that on November 21, an attack on a convoy of passenger vehicles, followed by tribal clashes, claimed the lives of 133 people and injured over 200. The situation in the region has yet to stabilize.
