Chairman of the Pakistan Ulema Council, Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi, said that implementing the Constitution of Pakistan is the need of the hour, as it was formed after a long struggle and countless sacrifices.
He said that Allah granted victory to the Pakistan Armed Forces against what he described as Indian aggression, adding that Islamabad is now being recognized around the world as the "Land of Peace." According to him, under the leadership of the Field Marshal, the world was saved from a major war.
Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi stated that Islam does not permit the killing of innocent people and condemned those who are working against the Pakistan Armed Forces and the country's peace and stability. He remarked that "wearing a turban does not make a thief or robber a religious scholar," adding that true scholars are those who serve both religion and the nation.
He further said that during the war involving Iran, the gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque remained closed, and for the first time in history, neither Eid prayers nor the usual Ramadan worship could be performed there. He stressed that all schools of thought must demonstrate unity and solidarity in the current circumstances.
Paying tribute to those martyred in terrorist incidents across the country, including Balochistan, he said they stand with the provincial government, the Field Marshal, and the Prime Minister, and will play every possible role in safeguarding the country's defense and stability.
Ashrafi said he spent 36 years of his life alongside Maulana Sami-ul-Haq. He said that Maulana Sami-ul-Haq and other scholars who were martyred had no crime other than serving Islam. He appealed to the public to "remain committed to your own school of thought, but do not interfere with that of others," in order to preserve religious harmony and peace in the country.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Khateeb Maulana Tayyab Qureshi said that Muharram passed peacefully due to cooperation among religious scholars, the public, the police, and other institutions, describing it as a positive development. He added that the religious scholars of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have made the greatest sacrifices for the establishment of peace.
He also said that supporting terrorism or acting against the Pakistan Army is forbidden, and urged those issuing fatwas against Pakistan to reconsider their actions. He emphasized that Pakistan's religious scholars stand with the country's state institutions.
The remarks were made during a press conference at the Peshawar Press Club, attended by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Khateeb Maulana Tayyab Qureshi, Maulana Ruhullah Madani, Syed Yousaf Shah of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (Sami-ul-Haq Group), Maulana Muhammad Shuaib, and Dr. Shamsur Rehman Shams.
The press conference concluded with special prayers for the security personnel and civilians martyred in terrorist attacks, as well as for Pakistan's peace, security, and prosperity.
