The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has given in-principle approval for issuing land ownership records, known as Fard, through NADRA E-Sahulat centres across the province.

The decision was taken at a meeting on reforms in the Revenue Department, chaired by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi.

Officials briefed the meeting that citizens would now be able to obtain land records not only from the Revenue Department’s Service Delivery Centres but also from NADRA E-Sahulat centres. Government fees and other service charges for obtaining the Fard would be paid through a cashless system.

The chief minister directed officials to launch the new facility next week, saying the initiative would save citizens’ time and resources and spare them unnecessary visits to government offices.

Sohail Afridi said the provincial government was taking practical steps to provide public services at people’s doorsteps. “We believe in people-friendly governance, and providing facilities to citizens at their doorstep is our priority,” he said.

He said the new system for issuing land records would ensure greater convenience, transparency and ease for citizens.

The meeting was also briefed on the draft Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Land Acquisition Bill 2026. The chief minister directed officials to include specific provisions in the proposed legislation to prevent unnecessary delays in the land acquisition process.

He further directed that the draft bill be finalised at the earliest and presented before the relevant forums for approval.

Sohail Afridi said the Land Acquisition Bill 2026 was in line with the vision of PTI founder Imran Khan and that public interest had been given the highest priority in the proposed legislation.

The chief minister said the provincial government would continue the reform process to address public issues, improve transparency and strengthen governance.
